To say that I am excited is a huge understatement. But I will just say it: I am super excited!

After 30 years in business, Small World Language Services is rebranding its tutoring services to Empalingua, “where empathy meets tutoring”.

How did the name “Empalingua” come about?

In a nutshell, I can honestly say that everyone wants to be respected, understood, and treated with kindness. Empathy is the word that embodies this concept. The “lingua” part means “tongue”. Another word for “language” is “tongue”. We are a language services company that strives to provide quality language tutoring services in a kind, compassionate, and essentially “empathetic” way.

As a student, you seek tutoring services because you need help - the kind that you cannot solve alone... There are many tutors to choose from, but knowing that your learning is not only in the hands of a language expert but also a tutor who cares, encourages, and makes you feel like you can overcome any challenge.

This is the kind of tutoring we seek to provide you. Our tutors are chosen not only because of their teaching skills, but also because of their innate ability to be empathetic with our students.
